Marques de Riscal Proximo Tempranillo

Marqués de Riscal is one of Spain's most historic wine houses, founded in 1858 in the village of Elciego in Rioja Alavesa. Our vision is to make wines that honour the tradition of Rioja while appealing to the modern wine lover.

Our Proximo is a modern, approachable expression of Rioja, made from Tempranillo. Fruit-forward and smooth, it is designed to be enjoyed young and shared easily at the table.

Color: Deep cherry red with violet hues

Nose: Fresh aromas of ripe red cherry, blackberry and plum, with subtle notes of vanilla, spice and a touch of toasted oak

Palate: A medium-bodied palate with flavours of red and dark berries, balanced by soft, rounded tannins and gentle oak. Smooth and fruity, with a pleasant, lingering finish

Serving temperature: Drink at 16ºC to 18ºC (61ºF to 64ºF)

Food pairing: Recommend with grilled meats, tapas, roast chicken and semi-hard cheeses
