Gaston Hochar created Château Musar in 1930 in the cellars of the old 17th century 'Mzar' castle in Ghazir. The vineyards are planted at an altitude of 1000 metres in the Bekaa Valley, and are principally planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan, with the exact composition of the finished wine varying from vintage to vintage.

Style Notes :

  • Variety: Red Blend
  • Origin: Lebanon
  • Locality: Bekaa Valley

Tasting Notes :

Upon release, this was a classic vintage of Musar – the fruit quite light with strawberry and cassis flavours which gave way to dry tannin and an unusual rose-hip note; lovely balance and weight in the mouth.
