Alto Tajamar – Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon
Very slightly translucent ruby red color. Quite complex and characterful nose with aromas of smoke, Syrah's crushed peppercorns, ripe blackberries, some vegetal Cab notes of bell peppers, a hint of chocolate oak and a touch of rubbery character. The wine feels rich, full-bodied and rather soft with very ripe and moderately sweet flavors of blackberries and even some jammy blackcurrants, sweet black cherries, light black pepper character, a little bit oaky milk chocolate, a hint of blackberry marmalade and a touch of sweet, toasty and slightly caramel oak character. The wine is quite modest in acidity, but the ample yet quite gentle tannins lend some sense of firmness and texture to the wine. The finish is soft, somewhat sweet and medium in length with rich flavors of very ripe dark berries, some rubbery character, a little bit of toasty and chocolatey oak and a touch of brambly black raspberries.
